| Requirements | INDIANA LICENSES THE WELL DRILLER AND THE PUMP INSTALLER SEPARATELY, with a combination licence for those who do both. ELIGIBILITY. Be at least EIGHTEEN years of age; furnish evidence from THREE REFERENCES, of whom TWO must be water well drillers, pump installers or licensed plumbing contractors; successfully complete a COMPETENCY EXAMINATION; and pay the licence fee. FEES. $100 licence fee, plus a $25 administrative fee per test. The DNR Division of Water publishes the approved continuing education class list and the register of licensed water well drilling contractors. A well driller also works inside the groundwater-protection rules that govern well construction, abandonment and reporting; the licensing agency is normally the same body that receives the well log, so the licence and the reporting duty travel together. |
