These Terms govern your access to and use of American Trades Index (the "Service"), operated by American Trades Index ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service compiles information published by government occupational-licensing registers. It is not a consumer reporting agency, and the data is not a "consumer report" as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq.). You agree that you will not use the Service, in whole or in part, as a factor in establishing an individual's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA, and you will not use it in any manner that would cause us to be deemed a consumer reporting agency.
You also agree not to use the data to harass, defame, stalk, discriminate against, or make eligibility decisions about any individual in violation of applicable law, and to comply with all applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws in your use of it.
The Service provides access to a normalized, regularly refreshed record of skilled-trades occupational licenses sourced from public government registers, delivered via our website, API, MCP server, and email. Features, coverage, and pricing may change over time.
You must provide accurate account information and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your API keys confidential. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You may not share, resell, or sublicense your access except as expressly permitted.
The underlying records are compiled from third-party government registers. Those registers are the systems of record; we do not originate the facts they publish. The data is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose. Records may contain errors, omissions, or timing lags, and a register may change or withdraw what it publishes at any time. You should independently verify any fact with the issuing authority before relying on it. If you believe a record is inaccurate, contact us and we will review it against the source.
Free-tier and paid plans, including any free trial, are described at the point of sign-up. Paid subscriptions renew until canceled; you authorize us (through our payment processor) to charge your payment method for applicable fees. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
We and our licensors own the Service, its normalized schema, software, and presentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and its outputs for your internal business purposes, subject to these Terms. The underlying factual records are public information; our compilation and arrangement are protected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any decision you make in reliance on the data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, including any use of the data for an FCRA-regulated or otherwise prohibited purpose, or in violation of applicable law or these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 3, 6, 7, 8, and 10) survive termination.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date, and continued use constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
