Contractor: 48 months of practical ACR experience under a licensed contractor in the prior 72 months (or hold a technician certification 12 months plus 36 months experience in prior 48 months); pass the required exam. Must be an adult (18+).

Renewal
License valid 1 year (annual). Renewal requires 8 hours of continuing education, including 1 hour of Texas law and rules, completed before expiration; only department-approved courses count.
