| Requirements | Apprentice: 18+, register within 30 days of employment (direct supervision years 1-3; may work alone years 4-5). Journeyman: 4 years and 7,600 hours of apprentice experience under a licensed master, then pass exam. Master: 21+, 2 years (3,400 hours) as a licensed journeyman, then pass exam. |
